Methodology and limitations
Tile services on this page are visual references, not statistical layers. NASA VIIRS night-lights data correlates with electrified population but undercounts off-grid displacement sites and overcounts industrial activity. OpenInfraMap derives from voluntary OpenStreetMap edits and has uneven coverage in active conflict zones. For comparable, citable figures use WorldPop or GHSL gridded population rasters and HDX road-network exports, all linked above. Boundary lines shown are illustrative and follow the OpenStreetMap consensus; they do not represent an endorsement of any territorial claim.
